Job summary

Labcorp in Calabasas, CA is hiring a Lab Assistant to support routine laboratory operations on a Tue-Sat night shift. You will receive and sort clinical specimens, prepare them for testing, and handle data entry to ensure accurate records.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, comfort handling specimens, and strong attention to detail. Prior Labcorp experience or healthcare exposure is a plus, and candidates must be able to pass a color vision test.

Work Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday 9:00pm - 5:30am. Additional days and hours may be required based on business needs.

Job Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information
• Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance
• Troubleshoot any specimen related issues
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Preferred Qualification

• Current or prior Labcorp experience
• 3 months or more of experience in the healthcare industry, such as a physician's office, clinic or hospital
• 3 months or more of experience in an assembly or manufacturing production environment
• 3 months or more of experience in a medical/clinical laboratory experience

• Comfortability with handling biological specimens
• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
• High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced production environment and meet established turn‑around times
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed

Pay Range

Pay Range: $17.75 - $22.76 per hour. Plus shift differential

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.

• Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
• Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
