Job summary

Labcorp in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Lab Assistant for the night shift (Tuesday–Saturday, 9:00 pm–5:30 am). You will receive and sort clinical specimens, prepare them for testing, and perform data entry and routine equipment checks.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of healthcare or clinical laboratory experience; Labcorp experience and production environment exposure are a plus. The role requires accuracy, safety, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1+ year of experience in healthcare settings such as clinics or hospitals.
• 1+ year of experience in a medical/clinical laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information.
• Ensure lab equipment is working properly and perform minor maintenance.
• Troubleshoot specimen-related issues and maintain clean work area.
• Follow SOPs to ensure safety and quality standards.

Labcorp is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team in Phoenix, AZ.

• Night Shift, Tuesday - Saturday, 9:00 pm - 5:30 am.
• Overtime required as needed.
• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information.
• Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance.
• Troubleshoot any specimen related issues.
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested.
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards.

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• One year or more of experience in the healthcare industry, such as a physician's office, clinic or hospital.
• One year or more of experience in a medical/clinical laboratory.

Current or prior Labcorp experience

One year or more of experience in an assembly or manufacturing production environment

Additional Job Standards

• Comfortability with handling biological specimens
• Able to accurately identify specimens
• Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
• High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
• Able to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Able to work overtime as needed
