Job summary

Kryptsec Inc. is looking for a contract Lab Architect to design and build hands‑on labs for our CTF Arena. You will own labs end to end, from scenario design through a validated, deployable package, with a focus on AI security scenarios and tool abuse defenses.

The role is fully remote as an independent contractor, with deliverable‑based compensation and ongoing engagement for the right fit. You will collaborate with a growing team of researchers and educators to push the catalog forward.

Qualifications

• Security background with prior experience building CTF labs or challenges.
• Deep understanding of how LLM and agent systems work, including tool calling and context handling.
• Hands‑on experience attacking or defending LLM applications or AI agents.
• Proficiency with Docker and container‑based deployment.
• Clear technical writing.
• Effective use of AI tooling in your own workflow.

Responsibilities

• Design and build containerised lab environments with realistic, intentionally vulnerable targets.
• Author the intended solve path, validation logic, and supporting documentation for each lab.
• Calibrate difficulty and solve time to the target audience.
• Work with our QA process to resolve findings and harden labs before release.
• Contribute scenario ideas that keep the catalog aligned with current AI security research.

Kryptsec is an AI security research and education company. We study how AI agents attack, defend, and break systems, and we ship that research as curriculum, challenges, and open-source tools. Our focus is the AI era of cyber security: learning to wield AI as a tool for security work, and understanding how LLMs and agents work under the hood so you can attack and defend the tooling itself.

Kryptsec is engaging contract Lab Architects to design and build hands‑on labs for our CTF Arena, which serves universities, live events, and a community of more than 2,200 members. Labs center on AI security scenarios: prompt injection, agent and tool abuse, MCP security, model supply chain, and AI‑assisted offense and defense. You will own labs end to end, from scenario design through a validated, deployable package.

What We're Looking For

• Security background with prior experience building CTF labs or challenges that others have solved.
• Deep understanding of how LLM and agent systems work, including tool calling, context handling, and agent execution loops, and where they fail.
• Hands‑on experience attacking or defending LLM applications or AI agents.
• Proficiency with Docker and container‑based deployment.
• Clear technical writing.
• Effective use of AI tooling in your own workflow.
