The University at Buffalo's Laboratory Animal Facilities is seeking a NYS licensed veterinary technician to join our team. Prior laboratory animal experience is not required; clinical skills from private practice translate well, and we will teach you to work with diverse species.

Qualifications

• Two year degree in Veterinary Technology or equivalent, and a current New York State license.
• Three years of work experience with animals in a non-residential setting.

Responsibilities

• Patient care for a variety of species and daily treatments.
• Assist veterinarians with exams and diagnostic testing.
• Maintain medical and other relevant records.
• Teach students in small, hands-on classes on handling, injections, and anesthesia.
• Correspond with researchers via email.
• Assist researchers with scheduled projects.
