Job summary

University of Vermont in Burlington, Vermont is seeking an Animal Care Worker to support daily husbandry tasks in the campus animal research facility. Under close supervision, you will feed, identify, observe, and care for animals and help with basic medical treatments as needed.

You will operate autoclave and cage cleaning equipment, maintain accurate husbandry records, comply with The Guide and institutional policies, and perform daily health checks to ensure welfare and proper research

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; a valid driver’s license and UVM drivers check is required.
• Experience handling and caring for animals is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day care of animals per SOPs and in compliance with regulations.
• Perform daily health checks and observe animals.
• Update and maintain husbandry records to ensure proper research conditions.
• Assist technicians with medical treatments as needed.
