Job description

Job Title: Lab Analyst

As a Lab Analyst at Arcwood Environmental, you will be responsible for performing fingerprint and sales sample analyses according to EPA, RCRA, and waste analysis plan-approved methods in the laboratory. You will operate instrumentation independently, calculate, run, prepare, and report analytical data. This role collaborates with the Plant Manager, AC, and/or Approvals to ensure proper testing of product code analysis is completed.

Essential Functions & Requirements:

  1. Prioritize health and safety by adhering to policies and maintaining safe practices.
  2. Prepare, composite, and log samples as per the Waste Analysis Plan.
  3. Perform fingerprint and pre-approval sample analysis, report results.
  4. Conduct bench analysis for in-house processing.
  5. Prepare and check calibration curves for analytical instrumentation.
  6. Monitor lab instrumentation for malfunction or incompatibility.
  7. Manage lab equipment and chemical supply inventory, place purchase requests.
  8. Maintain proper logs according to company policies.
  9. Coordinate retention and disposal of lab samples and waste.
  10. Perform housekeeping duties as required.
  11. Support team and organization with additional duties as assigned.

Education: Bachelor's degree (required), preferably in chemistry.

Experience: In lieu of degree, 2+ years of documented laboratory work experience.

Competencies:

  • Ability to work safely and stay alert.
  • Strong mathematical and computer skills, proficiency with laboratory equipment.
  • Reliable and predictable attendance.
