The Lab Analyst I performs sample preparation, analytical testing, and data management to support Materion's customer requirements and ISO 17025 management system. The Lab Analyst I reports to the Senior Analytical Chemist or Analytical Lab Supervisor, with dotted line responsibility to the department lead.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Preference given to candidates with a two- or four-year degree (preferably in a STEM field). A high school diploma, technical school, or GED is required at a minimum, coupled with 2 or more years of relevant analytical experience.
Excellent spoken and written English is required.
Sound decision-making skills are necessary; ability to take decisive action based on limited input and to determine when supervisory input is required.
Requires regular sitting, use of hands for manual tasks, occasional lifting and/or moving up to 40 pounds, and standing or walking as needed. Close vision and good manual dexterity are required for precise tasks.
Occasional exposure to low concentrations of fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals; noise level usually low; use of PPE required.
$27.18-$33.56 per hour (actual base salary may vary based on factors such as skill, experience, geography).
Selection contingent on export compliance eligibility under ITAR and EAR regulations. Candidate must be a U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, asylum or refugee, or otherwise eligible for access to U.S. controlled technology. Any offer requires export license approval.
