Lab Aide

Location: Port Jefferson

In This Role, You Will:
  • Knowledge of basic laboratory procedures and practices.
  • Ability to operate and maintain centrifuges and processing equipment authorized within the Laboratory Services Department.
  • Focused on safety and quality assurance procedures with the ability to function within or above regulatory agency requirements.
  • Performs multiple tasks such as; pending logs, restocking of laboratory supplies, disposal of biohazard waste, temperature charts, helping with inventory counts, archiving completed work, scanning records, and maintenance of laboratory workflow.
  • Proper usage of time management skills.
  • Interact in a positive manner with supervisors, managers, and coworkers.
  • Experienced with workflow management.
  • High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted activities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; resourceful and organized.
  • Assumes other duties as assigned by management.
  • Understands and observes all confidentiality and HIPAA provisions.
  • Ability to navigate and perform required tasks on Labdaq, Onco EMR and Infinity.
  • Recognizes and conveys to management any departmental improvements necessary.
We Require:
  • Must have a High School Diploma at least 1 year of experience in laboratory operations, preferred.
  • Bi/Lingual, English/Spanish speaking preferred
  • Proficient in Word/Excel

  • Salary: Starting at $22.54/Hr Based on experience and education.
