Job summary

Southwest Health System in Cortez, CO, is seeking a Lab Aide (Phlebotomist) to help collect high-quality specimens and support accurate lab testing.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, and CPR certification, with preferred Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy certification. English communication and strong customer service are essential. This position offers a stable day-to-day rhythm in a rural hospital setting.

Your Mission

As a Lab Aide (Phlebotomist) in Cortez, you'll help keep patient care moving fast and safely by collecting high-quality specimens and supporting accurate lab testing.

Key responsibilities:

• Perform venipunctures and capillary/skin punctures efficiently and correctly
• Understand test requirements and assist the Clinical Laboratory as needed
• Collect specimens for blood cultures, bleeding time testing, and routine blood samples
• Complete patient/specimen registration in line with hospital policy

Required qualifications/skills:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy certification preferred

• Communicate effectively in English (additional languages preferred)
