Job description

The Medical Program Specialist 2 supports the Department of Labor Industries' implementation of legislation (E2SSB5847) to improve injured workers' access to medical services. The position is located in Tumwater, WA and operates in either the Healthcare Policy and Payment Methods Unit (managing projects and process improvements) or the Provider Support and Outreach Unit (serving as a liaison for non-network healthcare providers and injured workers). The role combines strategic project management with analytical problem-solving to enhance health services delivery within Washington's workers' compensation system.

Key qualifications:
  • One year of experience as a Medical Program Specialist 1, OR relevant master's degree with two years of supervisory/consultative experience, OR relevant bachelor's degree with four years of consultati
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, analytical skills and ability to research and analyze information
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with ability to listen and connect with diverse stakeholders
  • Project management skills with ability to manage multiple assignments and communicate complex information clearly
