L&I DOSH Occupational Safety and Health Compliance Investigator (CISHI3), King Co

Join the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries as an Occupational Safety and Health Compliance Investigator (CISHI3) in King County. This role involves conducting complex investigations to ensure workplace safety and compliance with safety laws and regulations.

Position Details
  • Salary Range: $78,468 - $105,612 per year (plus additional premiums and bilingual pay if applicable)
  • Location: Region 2 service locations (Seattle, Tukwila, Bellevue)
  • Type: Full-time, Mid-Senior level
Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough investigations of workplace safety hazards, including fatalities, hospitalizations, amputations, and other serious incidents.
  • Perform inspections and enforce compliance with WISHA and OSHA standards.
  • Document findings, prepare reports, and recommend citations and penalties.
  • Assist in highly complex cases, testify in legal proceedings, and provide training to less experienced inspectors.
Qualifications
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive state or personal vehicle for work.
  • Five years’ experience as a DOSH Investigator or equivalent, or relevant certifications such as CSP, or extensive safety experience in related fields.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse clients, including hostile parties.

  • Work involves physical activity, including walking through various workplaces and exposure to weather conditions.
  • Telework may be permitted occasionally; driving is a core duty.
