The Department of Labor & Industries (L&I), Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), is looking for a Digital Education Supervisor to join our Digital Education team. This is an opportunity to combine your technical knowledge with your ability to lead people, build relationships, develop effective learning tools, and turn complex safety and health information into something people can actually use.

This position is much more than creating training. You'll lead a team of safety and industrial hygiene professionals while helping shape how DOSH educates and engages its customers.
You'll:
Coach, motivate, influence, and bring people along.
Look beyond what people need to know and understand what they need to do, including the tools, training, and resources that will help them succeed.
Understand safety and industrial hygiene competencies and help others apply them in real-world situations.
Explain complex topics clearly, listen well, ask the right questions, and adapt your approach to your audience.
Use your safety and industrial hygiene knowledge to solve problems, make decisions, and develop meaningful training and resources.
Technology and tools can be taught. We’re looking for someone who is willing to learn, takes initiative, and applies what they learn to make things better.
Driving is an essential function of this position. The incumbent is required to travel between worksites to perform assigned duties and must operate a state-issued vehicle, motor pool vehicle, or personally owned vehicle (POV), as appropriate. Use of a POV will be reimbursed at the current state mileage reimbursement rate.
Must be able to safely navigate a variety of work environments, including large manufacturing facilities with metal stairways, catwalks, ladders, and uneven terrain. Must also be able to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions, using appropriate protective gear.
We're especially interested in candidates with experience in:
*College-level education will substitute, year for year, for up to four years of non-safety and health experience.
*Additional safety and health qualifying experience will substitute year for year, for education.
*Qualifying experience" is defined as experience [conducting independent WISHA or OSHA safety and health inspections in the workplace; or regulatory related inspections in the workplace, including construction, manufacturing and other industries; investigating accidents; and writing technical reports] as a Safety & Health Officer, Consultant, Inspector, or WISHA or OSHA inspection, or regulatory related experience.
