Job summary

Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. in California is seeking an L&D Projects and Programs Manager to lead cross-functional learning initiatives from planning through evaluation. You will define project scope, objectives, and success metrics while ensuring program consistency with business needs.

The role requires strategic project management in a retail/hospitality setting, collaboration with HR, Operations, SMEs, and vendors, and the ability to travel up to 40% for stores and training events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum five years of HR/L&D experience with increasingly strategic project management responsibility, preferably in a retail/hospitality environment.
  • Obtaining a valid Food Handler's Card within 30 days of employment is a requirement of this position.

Responsibilities

  • Creates, leads, and monitors cross-functional L&D project plans, including timelines, milestones, communication plans, and required documentation. Provides project leadership to support the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of learning programs and initiatives.
  • Determines project scope, deliverables, learning objectives, and success measures in partnership with L&D leaders, subject matter experts, HR partners, Operations, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensures consistency in L&D programs, processes, and learning standards across the organization. Monitors and evaluates program effectiveness, recommending improvements that support scalability, sustainability, and alignment with business needs.
  • Defines and manages project risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans.Keeps stakeholders informed of progress, changes, risks, launch readiness, and post-implementation follow-up.
  • Communicates effectively with L&D team members, HR partners, Operations, subject matter experts, and vendors/consultants to build strong partnerships, align learning solutions to business needs, and share project updates, insights, and best practices.

Work Environment:

  • Office conditions; travel to stores, offsite training/conferences, and offsite meetings: up to 40%

Your background & experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field required; Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum five years of HR/L&D experience with increasingly strategic project management responsibility, preferably in a retail/hospitality environment
  • Successful completion of initial and periodically required trainings.
  • Obtaining a valid Food Handler's Card within 30 days of employment is a requirement of this position.

Pay Range: M2: $112,500 - $158,000 / Annual

* Within the range, individual pay is determined using various factors, including work location and experience.
