Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Silver Spring, MD is seeking an RN Nurse Manager to lead the Labor & Delivery team in a high-acuity maternity setting. You will promote clinical excellence, mentor staff, and ensure safe, patient-centered care across shifts.

Accountable for staffing, coordination, and adherence to AWHONN/ACOG standards, you will drive continuous improvement and staff engagement while partnering with physicians and leadership. This frontline role offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• RN License (Maryland or Compact State).
• BSN required; MSN preferred.
• 3+ years Labor & Delivery experience.
• 1-3 years leadership experience (Charge RN, Supervisor, or Manager).

Responsibilities

• Lead and support L&D nursing staff and charge nurses in daily operations.
• Ensure safe staffing, scheduling, and patient assignments.
• Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback.
• Address employees concerns with respect, fairness, and transparency.
• Foster open, clear communication across the care team.
• Communicate changes, priorities, and expectations with clarity and consistency.
• Oversee patient flow and throughput in a busy L&D unit.
• Support adherence to AWHONN/ACOG standards and best practices.
• Monitor quality, safety, and patient experience outcomes.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and safe care delivery.
