Job summary

AHMC Healthcare Inc. in Monterey Park, CA seeks an experienced Labor and Delivery Charge Nurse to provide clinical leadership and administrative oversight during their shift.

The role supervises nursing staff, manages unit operations and patient flow, and ensures real-time plan-of-care adjustments while maintaining high standards of care. The Charge Nurse will mentor staff, participate in onboarding and evaluations, and ensure regulatory compliance and safe patient handling within the L&D unit.

Qualifications

• RN license active in California.
• BCLS, ACLS, NRP (AHA) and Birth/Beyond certifications required within 6 months of hire.
• BSN preferred.
• Previous nursing leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Basic dysrhythmia training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs and coordinates daily unit activities, staff assignments, and patient flow based on acuity and regulatory requirements.
• Performs triage, updates care plans, monitors status, and conducts time-outs as needed.
• Mentors co-workers, assists with onboarding, handles conflict resolution, and supports evaluations/scheduling.
• Ensures compliance with safety and regulatory standards (JPSON, OSHA/CDC guidelines, EMTALA, crash cart).
• Acts as liaison between staff, physicians, patients, and families to maintain service excellence.
