Job summary

Air Combat Effectiveness Consulting Group, LLC is seeking a Labor and Delivery Charge Nurse to provide clinical leadership and direct patient care within the licensed scope of practice. The role coordinates daily unit operations, mentors staff, and ensures safety standards are met on shift.

The Charge Nurse will supervise nursing personnel, optimize workflows, and collaborate with the Department Director to maintain high quality care and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BCLS, ACLS, NRP (must be AHA), and Fetal Monitoring certificates required.
• Birth/Beyond certification within 6 months of hire.
• BSN preferred; previous nursing leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Basic dysrhythmia training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs and coordinates daily unit activities, staff assignments, and patient flow based on patient acuity, staff competency, and regulatory requirements.
• Performs triage, updates goal-directed care plans, monitors hemodynamic/cardiac status, manages medication reconciliation, pain assessment/reassessment, and performs bedside/procedural time-outs.
• Mentors co-workers, assists with onboarding/orientation, handles conflict resolution, and participates in staff performance evaluations and scheduling.
• Ensures compliance with National Patient Safety Goals, Infection Control guidelines (OSHA/CDC), EMTALA regulations, safe patient handling, and crash cart protocols.
• Serves as a key liaison between staff, physicians, patients, and families, ensuring high standards of Service Excellence and positive interdepartmental relations.
