Title: Occupational Therapy Lab Assistant (2 positions available)
Bargaining Unit/Salary Level: $45 per hour
Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicant must be credentialed as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) or Occupational Therapist (OT). This individual must be able to demonstrate competence in the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to support specific course learning, OTS 101 Introduction to Occupational Therapy and Human Occupation, for example: human development, activity analysis, therapeutic use of self, cultural humility, transfers, treatment modalities and interventions commonly associated with various populations treated by occupational practitioners (i.e. physical limitations and psychosocial dysfunctions across the life span), and documentation. Effective oral and written communication skills are required. The applicant must also be knowledgeable about methods for student evaluation.
Location and schedule:
The labs will be offered at York County Community College in Wells, ME, and Eastern Maine Community College in Bangor, ME. A lab assistant will be hired for each location. The Fall 2025 lab schedule for each location is five hours per week, the day and the time to be determined. This includes a 1-hour lunch period (12:30-1:30), a weekly staff meeting, and a 4-hour lab period (2 hours learning lab/2 hours competency lab).
