Apex Systems is seeking a Kubernetes Platform Engineer for onsite duties at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. The role focuses on developing, managing, and securing a container platform and container management software to meet client needs while leveraging cloud capabilities.

Candidates should have 10+ years in platform or systems engineering in classified environments, 5+ years with cloud, CI/CD, and strong Kubernetes networking, plus IaC with Python/Ansible/Terraform. A TS/SCI clearance is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 10+ years of experience in platform or systems engineering in classified environments.
• 5+ years of experience with cloud environments, programming languages, and supporting CI/CD.
• Experience supporting Kubernetes networking (Services, Ingress, network policies, load balancing, DNS, CNIs).
• Experience designing and troubleshooting networks for containerized or microservices-based applications.
• Experience with network automation and Infrastructure as Code using Python, Ansible, or Terraform.
• Experience operating production Kubernetes clusters and creating technical documentation, system diagrams, and SOPs.
• Experience with Linux-based systems (RedHat/CentOS) and networking in Kubernetes environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and secure a container platform.
• Develop container management software to solve client challenges.
• Inform strategy and design for containerization processes.
• Ensure standards throughout the containerization process.
• Recommend resources to help manage and securely adopt containers.
• Support the development of critical cloud platforms.
