Job summary

Equinix is seeking an experienced Staff Engineer to own and evolve Kubernetes-based infrastructure across on‑prem and AWS environments. You will design, build, and sustain Kubernetes environments tailored to business needs, ensuring platform reliability and scalability.

Lead closely with Principal Engineers and internal customers to gather requirements, operate clusters, and drive automation via IaC. This hands-on role emphasizes ownership and impact on platform reliability.

Qualifications

• Kubernetes cluster operations, upgrades, troubleshooting.
• Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms.
• Proficiency in Golang and Python.
• Experience using GitHub for code and collaboration.
• Hands-on with GitHub Actions for CI/CD and automation.
• Experience with infrastructure maintenance, patching and upgrades.
• Ability to translate stakeholder requirements into technical solutions.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and proactive engineering approach.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate Kubernetes-based infra across on-prem and AWS.
• Collaborate with Principal Engineers to design Kubernetes solutions.
• Provision, configure, and manage clusters for performance and reliability.
• Perform ongoing infrastructure maintenance and patching.
• Monitor health and proactively improve system stability and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot infra issues and resolve incidents.
• Contribute to automation and IaC initiatives.
• Participate in on-call rotations.
