Job summary

Fintal Partners in Chicago seeks an engineer to build and enhance an on-prem Kubernetes platform. You will own production clusters, automate operations, and streamline deployments for internal apps.

You’ll collaborate with software engineers to improve CI/CD pipelines, troubleshoot performance issues, and strengthen security and observability across containers, networking, and storage. This role focuses on reliability in a demanding enterprise environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on Kubernetes experience, ideally on-premises.
• Strong understanding of containers and production infrastructure.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tooling and deployment processes.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes networking, storage, and security.
• Ability to troubleshoot production issues and drive improvements.
• Strong communication and collaboration with software teams.

Responsibilities

• Build, operate, and scale Kubernetes clusters across on-premises infrastructure.
• Develop automation for provisioning, deployment, and cluster maintenance.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows with developers.
• Investigate performance and reliability across containers, networking, and storage.
• Strengthen monitoring and alerting for platform visibility.
• Manage upgrades, recovery procedures, and backup processes.
• Enhance platform security with access controls and secrets management.
