Job summary

Ashley Furniture Industries Inc. is seeking an experienced Kubernetes Platform Engineer to design, build, secure, and operate enterprise-scale cloud and container platforms in Tampa, FL. You will lead the architecture and implementation of Kubernetes across Azure and Google Cloud while embedding DevSecOps throughout the lifecycle.

The ideal candidate combines deep Kubernetes and cloud expertise with a strong security mindset, leveraging IaC and automation to deliver scalable, resilient platforms.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Kubernetes, Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering or DevOps experience.
  • Deep hands-on Kubernetes administration, architecture and troubleshooting.
  • Strong experience with Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Designing and operating large-scale Kubernetes environments.
  • IaC tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • GitOps methodologies with ArgoCD, Flux or similar.
  • DevSecOps practices integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Container security, image scanning and policy-as-code frameworks.
  • Kubernetes security: RBAC, network policies, secrets management.
  • Experience with Istio or similar service mesh.
  • Scripting/development skills (Go, Python, Bash).
  • Enterprise authentication/identity platforms knowledge.
  • Kubernetes certifications preferred; security certifications a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support enterprise-scale Kubernetes platforms across Azure and Google Cloud.
  • Architect highly available, scalable, and resilient containerized infrastructure solutions.
  • Develop and maintain custom Kubernetes operators, controllers, and platform automation.
  • Create and optimize CI/CD and GitOps workflows for deployments.
  • Build and maintain IaC solutions using Terraform and related technologies.
  • Implement platform security controls and DevSecOps across Kubernetes and cloud.
  • Integrate security scanning, compliance validation, and policy enforcement into pipelines.
  • Design and implement centralized identity, access management, and secrets management.
  • Develop automation for cluster provisioning, lifecycle management, patching, upgrades.
  • Implement observability, monitoring, logging, and alerting across the platform.
  • Design and support multi-cluster and multi-cloud deployment strategies.
  • Troubleshoot complex Kubernetes, cloud, networking, and platform issues.
  • Partner with app teams to improve reliability, performance, and deployment automation.
  • Create architecture, operational, and security documentation.
  • Lead disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity for platform services.
  • Mentor team members on Kubernetes, cloud architecture, automation and security.

Summary:

We're seeking an experienced Kubernetes Platform Engineer to design, build, secure, and operate enterprise-scale cloud and container platforms. This role will lead the architecture and implementation of Kubernetes environments across Azure and Google Cloud while incorporating DevSecOps principles throughout the platform lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support enterprise-scale Kubernetes platforms across Azure and Google Cloud.
  • Architect highly available, scalable, and resilient containerized infrastructure solutions.
  • Develop and maintain custom Kubernetes operators, controllers, and platform automation.
  • Create and optimize CI/CD and GitOps workflows for application and infrastructure deployments.
  • Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform and related technologies.
  • Implement platform security controls and DevSecOps best practices across Kubernetes and cloud environments.
  • Integrate security scanning, compliance validation, and automated policy enforcement into deployment pipelines.
  • Design and implement centralized identity, access management, and secrets management solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Kubernetes, Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or DevOps experience.
  • Deep hands-on expertise with Kubernetes administration, architecture, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong experience with Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience designing and operating large-scale Kubernetes environments.
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Experience implementing GitOps methodologies using ArgoCD, Flux, or similar platforms.
  • Understanding of DevSecOps principles and integrating security into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with container security, image scanning, vulnerability management, and policy-as-code frameworks.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes security, RBAC, network policies, secrets management, and workload protection.
  • Experience with service mesh technologies such as Istio, Linkerd, or similar.
  • Strong scripting or development skills in Go, Python, Bash, or similar languages.
  • Experience with enterprise authentication and identity platforms.
  • Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD, or CKS) preferred.
  • Security certifications or demonstrated DevSecOps experience are a plus.
