Job summary

Rerun is seeking a hands-on engineer to design and maintain a Kubernetes operator that automates deployment of our multimodal data stack into customer environments and cloud. You will own the control plane, implement CRDs and controllers, and contribute to the platform's reliability and scale.

The role welcomes earlier-career engineers and offers a remote-friendly US role with collaboration across time zones, paid vacation, and equity.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering background with IaC mindset.
• Deep Kubernetes experience with operators: CRDs, controllers, and production-ready code.
• Proficiency in Go and the ability to read or contribute to a Rust codebase.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and data-intensive infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain a Kubernetes operator, including CRDs, controllers, reconciliation logic, APIs, tests, and releases for the control plane.
• Extend the platform during onboarding so new networking, IAM, storage, and cluster requirements work end to end.
• Improve production reliability and scale through observability, CI/CD, and incident response across environments.
• Participate in follow-the-sun on-call rotations with the team.
