At the heart of ClickHouse Cloud is a Kubernetes operator that manages thousands of databases. The operator is deployed in multiple clouds, regions, and Kubernetes clusters, and is responsible for provisioning new ClickHouse clusters, managing users and permissions, configuration, backups, upgrades, and more. You will help evolve this critical component by designing and implementing new features to support growing complexity and scale while ensuring the operator remains robust, testable, and maintainable.

What will you do?
  • Work deep inside Kubernetes to design and develop new features and improvements for the clickhouse-operator
  • Collaborate with the autoscaling team and the core team to integrate new features seamlessly into the operator
  • Educate and support other teams so they can contribute to the operator codebase
  • Be part of the on-call rotation and investigate issues in the ClickHouse Cloud production environment
About you
  • 5+ years of software development experience building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems
  • Software development experience in Go
  • Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Experience leading and shipping large technical projects in collaboration with multiple engineers
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within and across teams
  • Strong problem solver with solid production debugging skills
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and partners with the business to move the business forward
  • High level of responsibility, ownership, and accountability
  • Experience with ClickHouse is preferred
Compensation

For roles based in the United States, the typical starting salary range is: $125,600 - $185,500 USD. In premium US markets, the range is typically higher, e.g., $157,000 - $232,000 USD.

These salaries reflect the minimum and maximum pay at the time of posting. Actual compensation may be higher or lower and ranges may be adjusted in the future. Placement within the range depends on factors such as education, qualifications, experience, location, performance, and business needs.
