Job summary

Accenture Federal Services is seeking a Mid-Level Kubernetes Engineer to design, deploy, and operate production Kubernetes environments for federal clients. You will build CI/CD pipelines, harden clusters to meet DoD security requirements, and implement service mesh and observability stacks.

The role emphasizes security-by-default, DoD-friendly workflows, and collaboration with application teams to enable safe deployments at scale. U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 4 years of experience operating Kubernetes in production, including cluster administration and troubleshooting.
• Strong Linux fundamentals and scripting (Bash, Python, or Go).
• Hands-on experience with Helm, Kustomize, and Terraform.
• Solid understanding of networking, RBAC, and Kubernetes security primitives (Pod Security Standards, network policies, secrets).
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and operate Kubernetes clusters (EKS, GKE, AKS, OpenShift, or on-prem) for production workloads.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for containerized deployment with GitOps workflows.
• Harden clusters to meet federal security requirements (DISA STIGs, PSP, network policies, RBAC).
• Implement and manage service mesh (Istio, Linkerd), ingress controllers, and secrets management.
• Build observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry) to monitor cluster and application health.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning with Terraform, Helm, and Kustomize.
• Troubleshoot cluster and application incidents across networking and resource contention.
• Collaborate with development teams to containerize services and adopt Kubernetes-native patterns.
• Support ATO and continuous monitoring, including vulnerability scanning of images and configs.
• Document platform architecture and runbooks for onboarding teams.
