Job summary

SOSi is seeking a Kubernetes Engineer to support a DoD program by building and sustaining a scalable, federated data ecosystem across IL environments. You will configure clusters, Helm charts, and Operators to manage ESRI services with secure, compliant storage and automated scaling.

You will integrate Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, and OpenTelemetry for observability and IL-aligned reporting, while leveraging Terraform/Ansible for IaC and Istio/Linkerd for service mesh.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 5 years Kubernetes administration experience.
• Experience deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters and troubleshooting containerized applications.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
• Ability to design, deploy, and manage containerized applications in a cloud-native environment using Kubernetes.
• Proficient in Kubernetes orchestration, container networking, Helm deployments, and CI/CD automation.
• Strong knowledge of cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP), security best practices, and monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).

Responsibilities

• Configure, deploy, and maintain Kubernetes clusters across IL environments with ESRI and agency infrastructure.
• Develop and manage Helm charts and Kubernetes Operators for declarative deployment and automated scaling of ESRI services.
• Configure persistent volume claims and storage (AWS EBS, Azure Disks) to support ESRI workloads with backup/recovery compliance.
• Integrate Kubernetes-native monitoring and logging (Prometheus, Fluentd/OpenTelemetry) for observability and IL-compliant reporting across environments.
