Job summary

Kettering Health Network seeks a dedicated RN to join its mobile intensive care transport team in Dayton, OH. The role requires providing direct patient care in a high-acuity setting, including transport to higher-level facilities and advanced interventions.

Shifts are 12 hours, with options for a two-week rotating schedule or a three-day-per-week pattern. The position supports continuing education and growth within a not-for-profit health system serving southwest Ohio.

Qualifications

• Current Ohio nursing license with active credentials.
• CPR, ACLS, and PALS certification.
• Associates degree in nursing; Bachelor’s within 5 years of employment.
• Recent ED or ICU nursing experience.
• Pre-hospital certification and EMT/Paramedic preferred.
• TNCC and/or CCRN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in mobile ICU transport setting with a 1:1 patient ratio.
• Transport patients to higher-level facilities and provide advanced care.
• Maintain station, vehicle, and equipment cleanliness.
• Complete detailed patient and operational reporting.
• Participate in continuing education and skill competency programs.
• Act as a preceptor and/or participate in orientation of new employees.

Responsibilities & Requirements

Job Specific Duties:

The critical care RN functions as part of a team to provide direct patient care in mobile intensive care setting, with the assistance of other allied health professionals. They transport patients to a higher-level facility and provide advanced care to the most critical. This nursing role offers many unique opportunities for the ideal candidate, including:

• 1:1 patient ratio
• Progressive standing orders and medical scope of practice
• Utilizes specialized equipment including Ventricular Assist Device, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), ECMO, and transport ventilators.
• Plays an integral part in the regional Surgical Emergency Response Team (SERT), providing advanced surgical, stabilization, and transport capabilities for patients in the pre-hospital setting.

This position offers opportunity for a two-week rotating schedule or a set three day per week schedule. Shifts are 12 hours in length and based out of our facility in Dayton, Ohio.

Operational Duties:

• Performs regular assigned shift duties.
• Maintains cleaning standards of station(s), vehicle(s), and equipment.
• Completes detailed patient and operational reporting, in a timely manner.
• Participates in continuing education and skill competency programs
• Acts as a preceptor and/or participates in orientation of new employees to cultivate culture and skillsets

Education Requirements:

• Current Ohio Nursing license
• CPR, ACLS and PALS certification
• Associates degree from accredited school of nursing, with Bachelor’s required within 5 years of employment
• Recent nursing experience in an Emergency Department or Critical Care (ICU) setting
• Pre-hospital certification and experience as an EMT or Paramedic preferred
• Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) and/or Critical Care Register Nurse (CCRN) preferred
