Job summary

Bonneville International in Phoenix is seeking a Board Operator to manage the on-air studio and ensure accurate broadcasts in FCC compliance. The position is onsite with afternoon drive and evening shifts.

Responsibilities include operating the on-air console, airing ads per log, preparing audio/video for guests, and supporting the producer. Training is provided, and digital media experience is valued.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years news/talk/sports radio control room experience.
• Afternoon drive and weekday evenings schedule.
• Training provided to operate the audio console during live, recorded and automated broadcasts.
• Digital/Social Media experience preferred.

Position Overview

As a Board Operator, your job will be to operate the on-air studio console and assure accurate broadcasts in compliance with FCC requirements.

Note: Work configurations are subject to change based on business needs and at company discretion.

• This position is an onsite role that requires the employee to regularly work at our Phoenix site. The schedule for this position is afternoon drive and evenings.

What You Will Do:

Primary job duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Focused operation of on-air console.
• Air commercials per program log.
• Ensure video and audio are ready for guests joining shows virtually.
• Screen listener calls for talk programs during shifts not utilizing a producer.
• Assist the show producer in tasks which may include posting on social media and uploading audio to podcast pages.
• Maintain accurate transmitter logs and program logs.
• Double check that audio elements are problem free, before they air.
• Fill-in as needed for producer of the show.
• Cross-training on other shifts in the event of scheduling emergencies.

Skills and Experience We Are Looking For:

• 1-2 years news/talk/sports radio control room work.
• Schedule is afternoon drive and weekday evenings.
• Zetta and Audio Vault experience preferred.
• Training is provided for how to operate the audio console during live, recorded and automated broadcasts.
• Digital/Social Media experience

Physical Demands

• Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively.
• Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to operate computer keys and general office equipment. Ability to work on a computer for prolonged periods of time.
• Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
• Lift, move, and carry up to 50 pounds on occasion.

Compensation

$17.00-$20.00 per hour. Hourly rate to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to evaluation of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with market data.
