The Kraff Eye Institute is a leading laser vision correction center in Chicago, known for its decades of experience and commitment to the latest ophthalmological advances, setting the gold standard in eye care.

Dr. Colman Kraff pioneered laser vision correction, performing the first excimer laser procedures in the Chicagoland area in 1991 as part of an FDA clinical trial. The institute has since been a leader in LASIK and Wavefront-guided treatments, serving as the primary U.S. investigative site for VISX LASIK FDA trials.

GENERAL FUNCTION

This role involves coordinating daily practice operations, including managing doctors, visitors, and patients, to ensure an excellent patient experience and establishing the practice as a premier vision care destination in the community.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Greet patients promptly.
  2. Answer phone calls courteously and promptly.
  3. Schedule appointments to optimize patient satisfaction and provider efficiency.
  4. Notify providers of patient arrivals and delays.
  5. Conduct reminder calls for appointments and pickups.
  6. Handle financial records, charges, and insurance claims.
  7. Maintain inventory and equipment, including ordering supplies.
  8. Protect patient confidentiality per HIPAA regulations.
  9. Verify medical and vision insurance coverage.
  10. Maintain office systems and a safe work environment.
  11. Follow policies and report needed changes.
  12. Support team efforts and perform additional tasks as needed.
  13. Work weekends and evenings as required.
  14. Adhere to attendance, dress code, and timekeeping policies.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of healthcare office experience
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Problem-solving and organizational abilities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with point-of-sale, patient records, and relevant software
  • Knowledge of vision services, insurance plans, and office operations
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Pay Range: $17.45 - $23.16 per hour
