About The Job (Job Brief)

The Senior Research Analyst will be responsible for financial analysis of the capital markets. The role involves identifying market values, providing investment guidance, and reviewing financial documents related to securities and quarterly financial statements. The analyst will build a professional network within their sector and promote Key Private Bank's research and marketing objectives by publishing relevant insights. Ongoing surveillance of investments assigned by senior management is also required.

Essential Job Functions
  1. Conduct due diligence before executing investments, ensuring timely responses to trading desk needs.
  2. Develop understanding of GAAP, GASB, or statutory accounting practices to review financial statements across sectors.
  3. Apply mathematical and statistical knowledge, including regression analysis and basic statistical methods.
  4. Participate in conference calls with sell-side analysts, rating agencies, and issuer management teams.
  5. Proficiently use Microsoft Office, Bloomberg, and S&P CAP IQ in daily tasks.
  6. Prepare financial forecasts, conduct comparable company analyses, and develop valuation models.
  7. Present research findings to investment teams and clients effectively.
  8. Maintain clear communication regarding opportunities and concerns within the team and with stakeholders.
  9. Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
  10. Provide coaching and strategic guidance to team members.
  11. Analyze macroeconomic, industry, and company data to identify trends and evaluate risks and opportunities.
  12. Produce high-quality research reports on companies, market trends, and sectors.
  13. Build and maintain relationships with issuers and industry resources.
  14. Present sector and credit analyses to portfolio managers, clients, and in meetings.
  15. Manage multiple tasks efficiently, prioritizing activities independently.
  16. Monitor credit risk assessments and update information with the surveillance team.
  17. Expand professional network to discover new opportunities and enhance client relationships.
  18. Assist in preparing marketing materials that highlight our strategies and offerings.
  19. Proactively identify credit issues and contribute research and outreach solutions.
  20. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and uphold a Service First attitude.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Master's degree or CFA preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bloomberg, S&P CAP IQ, and SNL.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, market-driven environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work independently supporting various investment strategies.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and relationship development.
