Role Overview

Location: Remote

Type: Contract (3-6 months), with potential to convert to a full-time role

As a Kotlin/Java Software Engineer, you will collaborate with our lead engineer on a project involving tools to improve Facer’s compatibility with external platforms. This role requires expertise in structured data handling and problem-solving, focusing on efficient, maintainable code.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software using Kotlin and Java.
• Handle serialization formats like JSON and XML for structured data management.
• Write, maintain, and improve code that converts data formats.
• Collaborate closely with the team for smooth project execution.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Kotlin and Java.
• Proficiency in serialization formats like JSON and XML.
• Experience in writing custom scripting languages.
• Solid math skills, including trigonometry, geometry, and rendering techniques (e.g., 2D transformations, vector calculations).
• Familiarity with the Android Build System.

Bonus Points

• Knowledge of Google’s Watch Face Format or similar standards.
• Experience with the Facer platform or Watch Face Studio.
• Knowledge of OpenGL rendering or UI frameworks.
