Job description

Overview

A busy Park Ave family is seeking a full-time professional housekeeper to join their team. The role is Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. The family has a second residence in Southampton'sand will need a housekeeper who can reside there on their working days. The family also has a dog and the role includes care of the dog.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and maintain the home to the highest standards of cleanliness and order
  • Assist with occasional errands and managing household inventories, including cleaning supplies, household toiletries (including skincare products and medications), daily groceries, and pantry items, and notify the House Manager when replenishments are needed.
  • Report directly to the House Manager, providing regular updates on the status of household tasks.
  • Provide support to the chef for special events as requested, including meal preparation, serving, and kitchen maintenance.
  • Wash, dry, and fold clothing, linens, and other household fabrics, adhering to specific care instructions for delicate or specialty items.
  • Iron bedding regularly, and press clothing as needed.
  • Maintain regular drop-off and timely return of dry cleaning.
  • Unpack bags and luggage when the family returns from traveling.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of all closets, deep cleaning closets when the family travels.
  • Manage a cleaning schedule, including routine tasks and deep-cleaning projects, and communicate this schedule to the House Manager.
  • Place and manage grocery orders for refrigerator and kitchen pantry items, primarily on Mondays, with occasional follow-ups on Fridays. Coordinate with Chef, who handles produce throughout the week, to ensure seamless inventory management and minimize small-batch orders. Communicate effectively with the House Manager regarding any last-minute needs or special requests.
  • Address minor maintenance issues (e.g., light bulb replacement) and report larger issues to the House Manager.
  • Assist during special events or family gatherings with setup, service, and cleanup as requested.
  • Provide feedback or suggestions for improving household operations to the House Manager.
  • Dog Care:Walk Pepsi one-time daily when in Manhattan and up to 3x daily in the Hampton's.Assist with Pepsi’s grooming, feeding, and other needs as required.Clean up following each of Pepsi’s grooming appointments and/or any accidents in the home as part of care-takingduties.
  • Live and work in the Hampton'sresidence, located in Southampton, during the summer and periodically throughout the year with advance request and a mutually agreed upon schedule; the expectation is for full-time presence (M-F) during the month of August with as well as a portion of June and July:
  • While in Southampton you will be doing the following: Walk the dog three times a day and manage two feedings, ensuring the pet's well-being, perform cleaning duties and manage laundry tasks, assist with dinners and household responsibilities during guest visits or events, work cooperatively with any additional help and train additional help to keep the house well organized.

Requirements
  • Adhere to scheduled working hours, Monday- Friday 8:30am-5:30pm when working at the Manhattan residence and any mutually agreed upon Hampton'sschedules as they are finalized.
  • Exhibit flexibility to accommodate occasional changes in routine or additional tasks as needed.
  • Must be willing to work with a dog
Salary and Benefits
  • Salary is DOE and ranges from $40-$45 per hr plus over night fees while in Hamptons and Health stipend
