Job summary

RSI EnTech, LLC is seeking a Knowledge Management Specialist in Grand Junction, CO. This full-time role designs, implements, and improves the KM program across the organization, partnering with governance, IT, and business stakeholders to maximize knowledge value.

The incumbent will lead KM governance, lifecycle processes, and digital workplaces, ensuring regulatory alignment and workforce continuity. Travel is minimal, with a start salary range of $75,000–$85,000 per year.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of relevant experience in KM or information governance.
  • Strong knowledge of KM frameworks, governance, and information architecture.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, Teams, and Power Platform.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and continuous improvement of the Legacy Knowledge Management Program.
  • Develop strategy, roadmap, and governance to support knowledge sharing and retention.
  • Design and manage knowledge lifecycle processes from creation to disposition.
  • Administer knowledge repositories and digital workspaces (SharePoint, 365).
  • Ensure compliance with policies, retention schedules, and security requirements.
  • Capture critical institutional knowledge from SMEs to reduce loss and support succession.
  • Analyze processes to boost collaboration and information accessibility.
  • Establish communities of practice and knowledge-sharing forums.
  • Develop training and change management initiatives for adoption of KM platforms.
  • Monitor performance via metrics and dashboards; drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide consultation on information architecture and digital workplace solutions.
  • Manage KM projects with planning, resources, and stakeholder engagement.

Position Summary

RSI is recruiting for a Knowledge Management Specialist who designs, implements, and continuously improves the organization’s Knowledge Management Program. Serving as a strategic partner across business functions, this role integrates KM practices, information governance, and digital workplace technologies to promote collaboration, innovation, and operational excellence. This position is responsible for developing and sustaining the KM governance framework, processes, and technology solutions. The KM Specialist enables efficient access to trusted information, preserve institutional knowledge, and supports workforce continuity. Partners with Information Governance, Records Management, IT, and business stakeholders to maximize the value of organizational knowledge. In addition, ensures all KM initiatives align with regulatory requirements, organizational policies, and information security standards.

Hiring Range: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year. (The anticipated starting salary is based on the posted minimum requirements for this position. The offered salary will be based upon the selected applicant’s education, training, and experience.)

This position is required to travel less than 5% of the time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Legacy Management Knowledge Management Program, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy, mission objectives, and operational priorities.
  • Develop and maintain the Legacy Management Knowledge Management Strategy, roadmap, and governance framework to support enterprise knowledge sharing, retention, innovation, and workforce continuity.
  • Design, implement, and manage knowledge lifecycle processes including knowledge creation, capture, validation, classification, storage, retrieval, archival, and disposition.
  • Develop and administer knowledge repositories, collaboration platforms, and digital workspaces including SharePoint, Microsoft 365, and other enterprise content management systems.
  • Partner with Information Governance, Records Management, Information Technology, and business stakeholders to ensure knowledge assets comply with organizational policies, records retention schedules, security requirements, and regulatory obligations.
  • Facilitate the identification, capture, and transfer of critical institutional knowledge from subject matter experts to reduce knowledge loss and support workforce succession planning.
  • Analyze business processes and workflows to identify opportunities to improve operational effectiveness through enhanced knowledge sharing, collaboration, and information accessibility.
  • Establish and facilitate Communities of Practice (CoPs), lessons learned programs, and knowledge-sharing forums to encourage collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across the organization.
  • Develop and deliver training, communication, and change management initiatives that promote knowledge management best practices and user adoption of knowledge platforms and processes.
  • Monitor and assess knowledge management program performance through metrics, dashboards, analytics, and user feedback to measure effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support organizational initiatives by providing consultation on knowledge management, information architecture, content governance, collaboration tools, and digital workplace solutions.
  • Manage knowledge management projects and initiatives, including planning, resource coordination, performance tracking, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Years of Relevant Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Knowledge Management, Library and Information Science, Business Administration, Public Administration, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 7 years of relevant experience.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Preferred but not required certifications include Certified Knowledge Manager (CKM), Certified Information Professional (CIP), AIIM Information Governance Certification, Project Management Professional (PMP), Prosci Change Management Certification, and SharePoint Certification.
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of Knowledge Management frameworks, methodologies, and industry best practices.
  • Understanding of Information Governance, Records Management, and data lifecycle management principles.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, Teams, Power Platform, and related collaboration technologies.
  • Knowledge of taxonomy development, metadata management, and information architecture principles.
  • Knowledge of AI-enabled search, knowledge discovery and content intelligence.
  • Strong analytical and business process improvement skills.
  • Experience developing governance frameworks, standards, and operating procedures.
  • Strong facilitation, training, stakeholder engagement, and change management capabilities.
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience using metrics, reporting, dashboards, and analytics to drive continuous improvement.

Essential Physical Requirements
