Job summary

Vedder Price P.C. in Chicago seeks a Knowledge Management Attorney to identify and implement data-driven KM solutions for the Litigation and Labor & Employment Practice Areas.

The role focuses on creating templates, drafting guidance, and curating precedent to improve efficiency and client service. The KM Attorney will collaborate with IT, Information Governance, and Training to promote KM resources and legal AI tools, evaluate new technologies, and lead knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor required.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience practicing law in the Litigation Practice Area, preferably in a law firm setting.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, project management, and technical skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain content for Firm and client use, including checklists, model documents, forms, drafting guidance, practice area resource material, templates, precedent, etc.
  • Optimize document management system organization and encourage use with standardized naming conventions, metadata fields, best practices, and improved precedent collections.
  • Partner with IT, BI, Information Governance, and Training to promote KM resources and legal AI tools; gather feedback to improve adoption.
  • Evaluate technologies to improve efficiency and support quality assurance for legal services.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies and AI developments in legal and non-legal industries.
  • Facilitate knowledge-sharing initiatives within Litigation and Labor & Employment Practice Areas.
  • Develop workflows leveraging Practice Area resources and technologies to promote efficiency.
  • Provide guidance for ongoing training on KM tools, resources, and best practices.
  • Evaluate new KM and research tools; participate in pilots and assessments.
  • Curate KM reports to enable insights into Practice Area and deal metrics.
