Job summary

Cooley is seeking a Knowledge Management Attorney for its Private Companies practice, focused on document automation and data modelling across practice groups. The role partners with product engineers and managers to align software with legal workflows.

The ideal candidate will have a JD and at least 4 years of law firm experience, plus strong collaboration and leadership skills in a fast-paced tech-enabled legal environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a practicing attorney
• Juris Doctor or non-US equivalent
• Active bar membership in jurisdictions you regularly work from
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
• Commitment to structuring forms and templates for maintainability

Responsibilities

• Draft and maintain standard forms, precedents, and guidance materials
• Coordinate collection and deployment of forms across Cooley’s software portfolio
• Serve as SME for practice group attorneys and cross-functional teams
• Prepare thought leadership materials for attorneys and clients
• Prioritize form collection, automation, and testing based on value and regulatory needs
• Assist with automation of practice group work products and processes
• Develop automated testing methods for updated legal language
