KnitWell Group is seeking an Assistant Designer for the Sweaters category at the New York office. You will support the Designer in creating a fully developed line, contribute to seasonal direction, and help prepare tech packs, boards, and presentations.

Strong sketching, fashion sense, and proficiency in Photoshop/Illustrator are required, with 1–2 years in design and a degree in design. This regular/full-time role offers a base salary in the $53k–$54k range, benefits including medical, dental,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Design or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years’ experience in Design preferred.
• Creativity and enthusiasm for fashion.
• Strong sketching and illustration ability.
• Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, Excel and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist in identifying seasonal fashion direction, merchandise trends, and client needs for the sweaters area.
• Assist in execution of tech packs, flat and technical sketches, pitch sheets and trim sheets.
• Prepare boards highlighting fabric, flats, and figure sketches; assist in Concept presentations.
• Participate in line assortment building and line presentations to create a cohesive collection.
• Support R&D for trims, prints, and patterns; attend fittings and take notes.
