Job summary

Thuasne, LLC is seeking a Knitter Technician Trainee to support maintenance of circular knitting machines at our North Carolina facility. The role requires mechanical aptitude, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and a willingness to learn the Lonati and Santoni knitting systems.

As part of the team, you will participate in a Knitter Trainee program or bring 3–5 years of related experience, support shift operations, perform preventative maintenance, and help ensure quality production

Qualifications

• Experience with circular knitting machines preferred.
• Knitter trainee program completion or 3–5 years of experience.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Communicates machine performance issues with supervisors.
• Documents issues on the production board.
• Review machine LCD to evaluate production and stops.
• Review machine LCD to identify poor performing machines daily.
• Inspects knitted products for defects and quality.
• Performs weekly preventative maintenance on assigned machines.
• Keeps work areas clean.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Communicates with the Master Technician, Head Technician, Technicians other Knitters and Department Manager concerning the machine performance issues.
• Documents issues on the “white communication board”.
• Review the machine’s LCD to evaluate production and stops to determine potential issues.
• Reviews the machine’s LCD to understand the stops daily to identify poor performing machines.
• Reviews the machine units produced to identify poor performing machines.
• Communicates yarn performance issues to the Manager.
• Participates in shift meetings.
• Performs weekly preventative maintenance on assigned machines successfully meeting expectations per the audit performed by the Master Technician, Head Technician or Manager.
• Assist with style or size changes as is required.
• Performs basic repairs within the Knitter’s capabilities.
• Re-needle and sinker the knitting machines as instructed and per capabilities.
• Inspects knitted products as they come off the knitting machines
• Inspections include inspecting product relaxed and on a form board for visual defects.
• Replenishes yarns as is required.
• Disposes of “bad” yarn per instructions.
• Doffing orders using IFT keying system.
• Ensures correct yarns are used to produce product per work order instructions, verifies info on the manufacturing order matches info displayed on the machine LCD, ensures flat layout is correct.
• Keeps work areas clean
• All other duties as assigned

Qualification Requirements

• High School or equivalent
• Ability to work any shift and overtime as needed
• Ability to work with little or no direct supervision
• Must have successfully completed Knitter Trainee program and or have 3-5 years’ experience in maintain circular knit machines
• Knowledge of Circular Knitting Machines to include Lonati,and Santoni
