HPLC expert (laboratory technician, (bio-)chemist) as Field Service Engineer North America (m/f/d)

We are looking for 2 full-time field service engineers at the east and west coast in the wider San Diego/Los Angeles and in the Boston/New York area. If you have worked and performed maintenance in the field of liquid chromatography or formulation of APIs into lipid nanoparticles before, then this is a good prerequisite for this interesting position.

KNAUER Life Science Inc., founded in 2025, is a subsidiary of KNAUER Wissenschaftliche Geräte GmbH, Berlin. The aim is to offer sale and service in North America in the field of liquid chromatography, osmometry, oligonucleotide synthesis and the encapsulation of lipid nanoparticles.

Your tasks:

  • Installation of HPLC and LNP instruments and instruction of our customers in the use
  • Repair and maintainance of instuments on site
  • Instruction into various software packages for controlling our devices
  • Sales of maintenance contracts together with the sales department
  • Support of fairs and test setups

If you have the following skills and knowledge, you can make an important contribution to the professional support of our customers:

  • You are a trained laboratory technician (m/f/d) or have a university degree in chemistry or biochemistry
  • You have experience in instrumental analysis and extensive experience in the field of HPLC and/or formulation of APIs into lipid nanoparticles. You have previously carried out maintenance on similar equipment.
  • In addition to MS Office applications, you can also use chromatography software or feel able to familiarise yourself quickly and independently with these programmes.
  • You have a high level of self-motivation and organisational skills
  • You have a very good command of written and spoken English
  • You are in possession of a car driving licence
  • You know that a high degree of time flexibility is a necessary requirement
  • You are willing to travel through USA and Canada (75 % travel)
  • You are a good listener, can grasp complex issues and offer the customer convincing solutions

Additional details:

This position is home office based, it will initially be filled for 2 years with the option of extension. You will receive a company car or reimbursement for private car usage. The full time pay range is 69.000 USD to 92.000 USD, depending on the location and skill level.
