Job summary

Kenston Local Schools is seeking a Lunchroom/Playground Supervisor to assist the principal in maintaining a safe and orderly environment for students during lunch, recess, and indoor activities.

You will supervise the lunchroom, playground, equipment, and transitions, help with setup and cleanup, enforce rules, and communicate with staff, students, and parents as needed. This is an on-site role with daily hours established by the Board of Education.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to supervise students in a positive manner.
• Ability to relate effectively and courteously with the building staff, students and parents.
• Ability to follow verbal and written directions independently
• Ability to work efficiently and neatly.
• Ability to speak clearly and politely, using correct grammar.
• Good health.
• A neat, clean, well-groomed appearance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the lunchroom in a positive and constructive manner in order to provide safety of students.
• Supervise the playground during recess time in a positive and constructive manner in order to provide safety of students.
• Supervise indoor recessing during inclement weather in a positive and constructive manner in order to provide safety of students.
• Supervise the distribution and collection of outdoor playground equipment.
• Supervise the transitioning of students to and from the cafeteria or playground.
• Maintain discipline in the lunchroom and playground.
• Work with students to solve routine disciplinary problems in the lunchroom and on the playground.
• Notify the principal of serious disciplinary problems that arise.
• Clean the lunchroom tables after each lunch period.
• Assist with the set-up and tear-down of the lunchroom as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal.

Terms of Employment

• May be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board of Education guidelines by the building principal.
• Have a contract and daily hours as established by the Board of Education.
• Be paid in accordance with Board of Education.
