Job summary

Outer Armor by Commercial Sewing, Inc. in Torrington, CT seeks a Kitting Supervisor to oversee daily workflow, staffing, and material readiness.

You will coordinate with Production, Supply Chain, Quality, Maintenance, and HR to meet safety, quality, and delivery targets while maintaining accurate records in ERP systems. The role requires 3-5 years in manufacturing with supervisory experience, familiarity with BOMs, ERP transactions, and kitting equipment, plus strong leadership and safety focus.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of manufacturing-related experience with supervision preferred.
• Experience with work orders, bills of materials, inventory, ERP transactions, and production reporting.
• Familiarity with kitting equipment and sewn-products manufacturing is a plus.
• Ability to interpret production documents and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct daily Kitting staffing, work assignments, and workflow.
• Review schedules, BOMs, kit requirements, and special instructions before start.
• Ensure accurate preparation and kitting of hardware, labels, and components.
• Supervise, train, evaluate, and develop staff and administer attendance and performance.
• Monitor output, quality, shortages, downtime, and schedule attainment; take corrective action.
• Escalate shortages, BOM issues, and equipment failures to Operations Manager.
