Position: Kitchen Worker

Location: Ladore

Availability of Position: Immediate

Schedule: PT; Weekends and some nights

Salary/Grade: $10.00-$13.00 per hour; 70; Non-Exempt

Responsibilities

Description of Position:

The Kitchen Worker is responsible for the execution of meals according to the established menus. The Kitchen Worker helps maintain a clean and safe work environment and participates in the clean-up of the kitchen and dining area after each meal serving. The Kitchen Worker is also assigned to mop, remove trash, clean counters, and wash dishes. The Kitchen Worker participates in the routine unloading of delivery trucks, storing food, and maintaining the cleanliness of all storage areas. The Kitchen Worker must be willing to uphold safety and cleanliness of the kitchen and enjoy working with others.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Must have H.S. diploma / GED.
• Must pass Servsafe class offered by the Salvation Army.
• Able to be on feet for long periods of time.
• Ability to handle a high-paced and often intense work environment.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to changing situations.
• Must be able to safely use knives, mechanical slicers, and other basic kitchen utensils and appliances.
• Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153, including PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, PA Mandated Reporter Training, and FBI Criminal Record Check.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Must have an understanding of, appreciation for, and support the Mission of The Salvation Army.
