Job summary

The Haven at San Gabriel in Leander, TX is seeking a reliable Kitchen Utility Worker to keep dishes, pots, pans, and equipment clean and sanitized. You will manage waste, check temperatures, and help maintain storage areas and kitchen cleanliness during daily operations.

Responsibilities include unloading dry goods, stocking supplies, assisting with buffet setups, and supporting residents and families with a positive, cheerful attitude.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
• At least one year of related work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Empty kitchen garbage and sanitize containers as needed.
• Check-in, unpack, and store dry goods, cleaning supplies, and cold stock.
• Oversee and maintain food storage areas and assist in cleaning when necessary.
• Pull frozen meats for following days and return unused items to freezer.
• Keep temperature checks current throughout the kitchen.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors and maintain cleanliness of walls in kitchen and serving areas.
• Assist with buffet setup and special functions.
• Maintain a positive, cheerful attitude toward residents’ families and guests; support quality care standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Essential Duties

• Wash and sanitize all dishes, pots and pans, food carts, and food preparation equipment (including ovens and ranges).
• Empty kitchen garbage/trash and sanitize containers as needed.
• Check-in, unpack, and store dry goods, cleaning supplies, and cold stock.
• Oversee and maintain food storage areas; when necessary, assist in the cleaning of food service areas and heavy equipment.
• Pull frozen meats to be used on following days and return unused items to freezer.
• Keeps temperature checks current throughout the kitchen.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors. Maintain cleanliness of all walls in kitchen and serving areas.
• Assist with buffet set up and special functions.
• Demonstrate positive residents and facility quality care and service standards to residents’ families, and guest. Maintain a positive, cheerful attitude at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
