Job summary

Love's Travel Stops is seeking a Kitchen Team Member in Mount Vernon, IL. You’ll deliver top-notch customer service, keep the deli area clean and stocked, and learn on the job. Training is provided for those without prior experience.

Responsibilities include assisting the deli and cashier teams, preparing deli items per guidelines, and maintaining food safety standards while adapting to different shifts and temperatures. Join a fast-paced, customer-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide general customer service and assist cashier team with deli prep and upkeep.
• Prepare deli products per preparation guides, including salads, fresh-cut fruit, sandwiches, wraps, and parfait cups.
• Follow company policies to ensure food safety and proper handling of all ingredients.
• Cross-train in other departments such as Store Cashier, Restaurant Cashier, Facility Maintenance, and Leadership Roles.
• Move and lift 25+ pounds; work in varying temperatures.

As a Kitchen Team Member, your role goes beyond daily tasks. You will interact with people from all walks of life, brightening their day with top-notch customer service and maintaining a clean, stocked deli area. No experience? No problem! We will teach you!

Job Functions

• General customer service duties including, but not limited to, answering questions about menu offerings, and addressing customer needs. Additionally, assisting store cashier team members in cleaning and maintaining the deli, coffee, and fountain bars with fresh offerings throughout the shift.
• Accurately prepare deli products as instructed in designated preparation guides to include salads, fresh-cut fruit, cold/hot sandwiches and wraps, parfait cups, etc.
• Use a variety of methods and technologies to ensure we follow company policies and procedures to maintain proper food safety conditions.
• Additional duties could include cross-training in other departments such as Store Cashier, Restaurant Cashier, Facility Maintenance, and Leadership Roles.
• Ability to move, lift 25+ pounds. Ability to work in various temperatures.
