Job summary

Harri in Mount Joy, PA is seeking a kitchen team member to help deliver an excellent guest experience while keeping a sanitary, safe back-of-house.

No previous foodservice experience is required; strong communication and teamwork are valued. This on-site role offers competitive hourly pay and employee benefits.

You will assist with prep, cooking, dishwashing, and general kitchen tasks, following recipes and safety standards to keep guests fed and satisfied.

Responsibilities

• Prep, cook, and slice menu items according to standard recipes.
• Date, label and rotate prepped items and store them properly.
• Follow portion sizes, quality standards and safety rules.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and consistently.
• Choose the correct knife for each task.
• Work with urgency to complete prep lists on time.
• Clean and inspect the work area at shift end.
• Inform Manager on Duty of inventory needs daily.
• Assist with dishwashing and other tasks as needed.
• Explain menu items to guests and pass the menu test.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of floors and surfaces.
• Assist with trash removal and recycling.
• Help with daily and weekly cleaning tasks.
• Support with food and labor cost control.
• Maintain professional appearance per Isaac’s standards.
• Abide by policies and dress code.

Position Summary:

All kitchen team members are responsible for doing their part in delivering an excellent guest experience to our customers while maintaining a sanitary and safe kitchen and work station in the back of house.

Major Responsibilities:

• • Prep / cook / slice menu/prep items according to methodsdescribed in the standard recipes in an amount of time to ensure safefood-handling and timely availability.
• • Properly dates, labels and rotates all prepped items, storing them inappropriate locations.
• • Complies with all portion sizes, quality standards and safety rules.
• • Properly uses all restaurant equipment, following procedures for both productconsistency and safety.
• • Selects the correct knife for the appropriate job.
• • Works with a sense of urgency and completes assigned prep list in a timelymanner.
• • Cleans and inspects work area at the end of each shift, as specified in theappropriate checklists.
• • Informs Manager on Duty of inventory supply needs daily and as needed.
• • Assists with tasks throughout the restaurant, such as dishwashing, as neededor requested by the Manager on Duty.
• • Answers phone and accurately handles takeout orders according to properprocedures.
• • Demonstrates a complete understanding of menu, passing the menu test with a75% or better and accurately explains the menu to customers.
• • Cleans up spills in the kitchen immediately.
• • Keeps floors and work surfaces clean, sanitized and free of debris.
• • Assists with trash removal (and recycling bins where appropriate) fromrestaurant and replaces with new bags.
• • Responsible for assisting with daily and weekly cleaning side jobs throughoutthe restaurant.
• • Actively participates in food and labor cost control

--Job Specifications--

Education:

Some high school. Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primarylanguage(s) of the work location. Must be able to speak and understand theprimary languages of the guests who typically visit the work location. Must beable to perform simple mathematical calculations. This position requires an ability to learn standard kitchen and food preparation procedures andorganization.

Experience:

No previous foodservice experience is needed, though it is helpful. Mustpossess good communication skills and be able to work well with others.
