Job summary

Isaac’s Restaurants is seeking kitchen team members to deliver excellent guest experiences in a sanitary, safe back-of-house environment. Training will cover dishwashing, carry out, hosting, and general customer service, with opportunities to work as cook, sandwich maker, prep, or slicer.

Responsibilities include prep/cook/ slice items, proper dating and rotation of prepped foods, adhering to portion sizes, safety rules, and using equipment correctly.

Qualifications

• No formal foodservice experience required, though helpful.
• Must possess good communication skills and be able to work well with others.
• Some high school requirements with ability to speak/read/writeUnderstand primary language of work location.

Responsibilities

• Prep / cook / slice menu items according to standard recipes with safe food handling.
• Date, label, and rotate all prepped items; store them appropriately.
• Ensure portions, quality standards and safety rules are followed.
• Operate restaurant equipment following procedures for product consistency and safety.
• Assist with daily and weekly cleaning tasks throughout the restaurant.
• Answer phone and handle takeout orders according to procedures.

Position Summary:

All kitchen team members are responsible for doing theirpart in delivering an excellent guest experience to our customers whilemaintaining a sanitary and safe kitchen and work station in the back of house.

Kitchen team members will be trained, at minimum, indishwashing, carry out, hosting, and general customer service. Other kitchen team member positions mayinclude cook / sandwich maker, prep, and slicer.

Major Responsibilities:

• Prep / cook / slice menu/prep items according to methodsdescribed in the standard recipes in an amount of time to ensure safefood-handling and timely availability.
• Properly dates, labels and rotates all prepped items, storing them inappropriate locations.
• Complies with all portion sizes, quality standards and safety rules.
• Properly uses all restaurant equipment, following procedures for both productconsistency and safety.
• Selects the correct knife for the appropriate job.
• Works with a sense of urgency and completes assigned prep list in a timelymanner.
• Cleans and inspects work area at the end of each shift, as specified in theappropriate checklists.
• Informs Manager on Duty of inventory supply needs daily and as needed.
• Assists with tasks throughout the restaurant, such as dishwashing, as neededor requested by the Manager on Duty.
• Answers phone and accurately handles takeout orders according to properprocedures.
• Demonstrates a complete understanding of menu, passing the menu test with a75% or better and accurately explains the menu to customers.
• Cleans up spills in the kitchen immediately.
• Keeps floors and work surfaces clean, sanitized and free of debris.
• Assists with trash removal (and recycling bins where appropriate) fromrestaurant and replaces with new bags.
• Responsible for assisting with daily and weekly cleaning side jobs throughoutthe restaurant.
• Actively participates in food and labor cost control
• Maintains a professional appearance at all times, clean and well-groomed perIsaac’s standards.
• Abides by all policies, procedures and dress code requirements established byIsaac’s.

Job Specifications

Education

Some high school. Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primarylanguage(s) of the work location. Must be able to speak and understand theprimary languages of the guests who typically visit the work location. Must beable to perform simple mathematical calculations. This position requires anability to learn standard kitchen and food preparation procedures andorganization.

Experience
