Job summary

ARAMARK is hiring a Food Service Worker in Chicago, IL to assist the manager with food preparation, maintain receipts and meal records, and help complete daily reports while upholding quality, sanitation, and kitchen safety standards.

The role supports meal service, stock management, and adherence to policies; teamwork and reliability are essential as you work to ensure timely, accurate meals for customers and guests.

Qualifications

• Food service certificate may be required based on location.
• Ability to read, write and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work quickly and concisely under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu.
• Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions.
• Understand what is inclusive of a meal.
• Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner.
• Serve food according to meal schedules and policies.
• Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives.
• Timely preparation of a variety of food items and beverages.
• Add garnishments to enhance customer happiness and eye appeal.
• Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and equipment.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, handling, and storage.
• Adhere to the uniform policy.
• Connect with the Manager daily to understand and prepare the menu for the day
• Supervise the food temperature requirements
• Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
• Scrub and polish counters, clean steam tables, and other equipment
• Follow procedures for cleanliness to ensure a safe environment; duties include sweeping, mopping, ware washing
• Maintain a neat garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas
• Perform other duties as assigned including other kitchen areas
• This role may require physical tasks like lifting, bending, and extended standing and PPE usage

Education

Food Service Certificate as needed

Sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions

Be able to work quickly and concisely under pressure
