Job summary

Hyatt Hotels Corporation is seeking a Kitchen Steward at Kissel Uptown Oakland in Oakland, CA. You will keep dishes, utensils, and surfaces shining, support sanitation, and partner with the kitchen team to maintain orderly, safe operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, and/or relevant experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Ability to convey information and ideas clearly.
• Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to evaluate and select among alternative actions quickly and accurately.
• Ability to perform effectively in stressful, high-pressure situations.
• Capacity to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Clean dishes, scrub pots, sweep floors, and take out the trash to keep the kitchen clean and organized.
• Replace all clean china, glass, and silver in their proper storage spots with care to avoid breakage.
• Bring a positive, can-do attitude and assist the team with various tasks as needed.
• Maintain overall cleanliness and sanitation throughout the kitchen area.
