Job summary

Lutheran Senior Services is seeking a Dishwashing Associate to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in its kitchen facilities in Missouri. This role supports residents and staff by ensuring clean china, glassware, and utensils, using both machine and manual cleaning methods.

Critical duties include setting up the dish area, handling dirty dishes, loading racks, and monitoring dishwasher temperatures to meet safety standards. The position emphasizes teamwork and safe, sanitary operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial kitchen preferred.
• Ability to read and understand work instructions.
• Must be patient and tolerant toward staff, residents, and family members.
• Must have or be willing to receive a hepatitis A vaccine if working inside St. Louis County.

Responsibilities

• Set up or break down dishwashing area.
• Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glasses, tableware, and other cooking utensils.
• Place rinsed items in racks to send through dishwashing machine.
• Wash pots, pans and trays by hand.
• Sort and stack clean dishes.
• Allow dishes and other items to dry in accordance with the department’s established practice and procedure.
• Carry clean dishes to cook’s line and other proper storage areas. Rewash soiled dishes before delivering.
• Change dishwater in dishwashing machine and/or sinks as instructed
• Notify manager any time dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures.
• Clean dish machine as instructed
