Job summary

Lutheran Homes Of South Carolina in Columbia, SC is seeking a Steward to manage the dishwashing area and back-of-house cleanliness, ensuring sanitary operations and efficient dish washing for meals.

The role supports dining and kitchen staff, assists with special events and deliveries, and helps train new team members while following health regulations and HIPAA requirements. Must be able to lift heavy items and work varied shifts.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: Food service or healthcare setting preferred but not required.
• Skills: Follow safety, dietary and sanitary procedures; stay organized; work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Dish Machine and Dishwashing Area Setup and Breakdown (35%): Properly set up and break down the dish machine and dish landing area.
• Back of House Maintenance and Cleanliness (25%): Maintain cleanliness of back of house, tables, shelves, walls, floors and loading docks.
• Support for Special Events and Food Deliveries (15%): Assist in setup/breakdown of events and manage deliveries.
• Assistance to Dining and Kitchen Staff (10%): Buss tables, assist servers during lunch, dispose waste timely.
• Compliance and Training (10%): Follow dietary and sanitary procedures; HIPAA guidelines; attend training.
• Other Duties as Assigned (5%): As needed.
