Job summary

The Steward position at Yardbird DC is focused on maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene standards of the kitchen and heart-of-house areas, serving as the first point of contact to assist our guests and team. Duties include washing dishes, organizing china and flatware, and keeping all kitchen spaces tidy and well-stocked.

Qualifications

• Able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Able to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Wash all dishes, pottery, and china and organize them efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and heart-of-house areas.
• Keep cold rooms, freezers, dry stores and canteen in good order.
• Handle crockery and cutlery to reduce breakages and losses.
• Ensure equipment is in good working order and report issues.
• Assist with back-of-house cleaning and area organization.
• Complete station closing duties and support kitchen staff with closing tasks.
• Assist in storing food, equipment, and stock items received.
