Job summary

The Palm Bar in New York is seeking a dedicated Utility Steward to maintain a clean and organized kitchen and dining area. You will wash and put away dishes, glassware, and silverware, and help with waste disposal to keep operations running smoothly.

Shifts run AM (8 AM - 3 PM) and PM (2 PM - 10 PM); you’ll help prepare the space for daily service and assist with routine cleaning and equipment maintenance to ensure a safe, efficient kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a dishwashing or kitchen support role is preferred, but not required.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Ability to stand, bend, and lift for long periods.
• Lift up to 30 pounds regularly and safely.
• Comfortable working with cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Positive attitude, reliability and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, silverware, pots and pans.
• Store and organize clean items in designated areas.
• Clean and sanitize the dishwashing area and equipment after use.
• Remove trash and dispose of waste; sort recyclables as needed.
• Maintain clean floors, walls and kitchen surfaces.
• Assist cooks with cleaning pots and kitchen maintenance.
• Ensure kitchen remains organized during AM and PM shifts.
